As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including Buyer in our Lighting business located in New Berlin, WI.


Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Buyer will purchase merchandise, materials, components, equipment, and services.


+ Collaborates with all internal and external stakeholders to execute purchasing responsibilities and maintain effective business relationships.

+ Issues and manages component and tooling purchase orders.

+ Completes and maintains various delivery and inventory reports including Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Tactical Sourcing/Production Planning parameters.

+ Builds effective relationships and manages supplier performance by clearly communicating expectations, leading business and performance reviews, and holding suppliers accountable.

+ Facilitates change processes (whether supplier or Rockwell-Collins initiated) to ensure timely disposition and execution that supports business needs.

+ Proactively identifies and communicates risks to supply, cost, and program deliverables while developing and executing mitigation plans to ensure successful continuity of supply for the operation.

+ Quotes and sources components to provide the lowest total cost of ownership while considering long term expectations for quality, delivery, cost, technical support, risk, and strategic alignment.

+ Manages costs for assigned components by utilizing detailed cost analysis and effective negotiation to maximize value.

+ Identifies and executes continuous improvement projects to increase supplier performance levels and value that improves internal business processes.

Travel Requirements:

+ Occasional supplier visits to conduct audits and business reviews.


+ Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Experience with various ERP systems

+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)

+ Strong data analysis skills


+ APICS Certification

+ Planning management experience of high volume, short lead time products
