We are currently seeking an Insurance Premium Reconciliation Specialist in our Mequon, Wisconsin office. The ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, possess good analytical and problem-solving skills and have an understanding of the insurance billing process. You will be working in a deadline-driven environment where follow-up and accountability are crucial to the role.





Objective: Under direct supervision, applies premium for voluntary payroll deductions at an employee policy level for all clients. This role services our clients by processing policy updates and reviewing payment summary reports to improve payment exceptions. This position works closely with the billing team, sales implementation teams, Regional Sales Directors and external clients to resolve general billing issues while providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers and clients.





Responsibilities include:



+ Reconciling and applying premium payments at an employee policy level accurately and within company guidelines.


+ Participates in billing issue resolution providing options with internal and external customers while maintaining the highest level of customer service.


+ Proactively contacts clients and other external and internal entities for resolution to past due payments and reconciliation of monies in suspense accounts.


+ Collaborates with Billing team and Sales Implementation team to ensure initial premium on new and re-enrolled cases is remitted timely and correctly.


+ Audits accounts or researches basic billing inquiries with a focus on timely and optimal resolution.


+ Responds to email, fax, mail, phone or verbal inquiries from internal and external customers to resolve billing issues or assist with remittances, invoices and payroll deductions questions or concerns.


+ Participates in system testing for improvements or enhancements to processes.


+ Other duties as assigned.






Qualifications:



+ A minimum of 1-year banking, premium reconciliation or accounting experience required.


+ 2-4 years of banking, premium reconciliation or accounting experience preferred.


+ Proficiency in MS Office, including Access, Word, Excel and Outlook is required.


+ Must possess excellent and accurate data entry skills.


+ Display an understanding of billing issues, processes and systems and display strong mathematical skills.


+ Ability to exercise sound judgment, appropriate communication, courtesy and flexibility toward customers and associates.


+ Ability to prioritize tasks independently to accomplish goals


+ Work effectively in a team environment.


+ Ability to problem solve and think through variable billing situations when only limited standardization exists.


+ General insurance background knowledge preferred.
